作        者　史梅爾 Stephen Smale

作者簡介　史梅爾是美國數學家，在加州大學柏克萊分校任教30 年退休後，轉任職於香港城市大學與豐田芝加哥科技學院。他的研究領域跨越微分拓樸、動力系統、數理經濟、計算理論。1966 年獲得費爾茲獎，2007 年獲得沃爾夫獎。
